Sunday Morning Worship Service

Each Sunday morning at 10:35, the people of Archer City First United Methodist Church gather to worship the Lord in spirit and truth.  We praise God through the reading of Scripture, community prayer of confession and petition while proclaiming our faith in God through Jesus Christ.  Together we  share our  joys and concerns and lift up our voices in songs of praise.

The Choir leads us in song using the Methodist Hymnal as well as some modern tunes included.  Our worship style is rich in tradition.

Services last about an hour, except on Communion Sundays with about 15 minutes added on.

On the months we have 5th Sunday, our worship is a little different with more modern songs added while the Choir leads us in an hour of praising with our voices.

Parking and Entrance

You may park anywhere on Center Street.  Handicap spaces are available at the front doors of the church.

Enter into the sanctuary through the double doors and you will be greeted warmly.  Any questions you have will be answered with a warm smile!

Dress

Please come as you are!  You will find jeans and suits.  Whatever you are comfortable wearing.

Children

We provide a staffed nursery for children 4 years and under.  A children’s sermon is also given each Sunday during regular worship.

Communion

First Sunday of each Month Holy Communion is observed.
In the United Methodist Church,  we observe an open communion.
All who seek Christ, no matter what your Christian Denomination, are welcome at the table of our Lord.

Sunday School

The Sunday school hour begins at 9:15.  There are classes for all ages 5 years and up.  The nursery is also staffed at this time for those younger than 5.

Fellowship

Each Sunday after classes , we enjoy Coffee Talk together.  This usually begins around 10:10.

We also have a pot luck luncheon each 5th Sunday of the month.  So if you happen to visit on that Sunday, be sure to stay and join us for a meal.  There is always plenty!
